Your Bent Days Have Come to An End

What does it mean to finally be done with the weight that has kept us bent, broken, and bound? In this powerful message drawn from Luke 13:10-17, we encounter a woman who carried a spirit of infirmity for eighteen long years. She showed up to the synagogue week after week, bent double, unable to lift her head. Her story is more than a miracle account -- it is a mirror held up to every one of us who has learned to adjust our lives around something that was never meant to stay. The central lesson is striking: she had something, but what she had was not who she was. Satan's oldest trick is convincing us that we are what happened to us. This message dismantles that lie and declares that bent days have an expiration date. When Jesus saw her, called her, spoke to her, and touched her, she was immediately made straight -- and her response was immediate praise. There is something deeply instructive in that sequence. He did not wait for her to look whole before he called her forward. He called her while she was still bent. That is the invitation extended to each of us today: come as we are, not as we think we need to be.
